Motorcycle Tours of New Zealand
At City Motorcycle Rentals we offer both personalised and semi guided tours.
We can make all your accommodation and Interislander (ferry between the North and South Islands) bookings and advise you on good motorcycling roads. As we are all motorcyclists ourselves and have toured extensively around New Zealand, we understand motorcyclists and can lead semi guided tours.
Semi Guided
On a semi guided tour, through many discussions with you we work out what route suits you best and what attractions/interests you wish to see. You will be accompanied for the first two days of your tour. This gives you a chance to familiarise your self with New Zealand road laws (like riding on the left hand side of the road) and gets you through the city . Air port transfers can be arranged.
Personalised Tours
On a personalised tour we handle all of your accommodation bookings and work out the best tour for you designed around your interests. We recommend travelling no more than 250-350km per day. Although this doesn't sound like a large daily ride, it is good to remember there are few straight roads in New Zealand . The West Coast can be exciting and challenging. It is a good idea to reach your destination mid afternoon so you can enjoy the attractions / or relax.
Fully Guided Motorcycle Tours
We do short 4 and 5 day tours in February and March in the South Island only (see below). For longer North and South Island tours we can highly recommend Te Waipounamu. They have been organising motorcycle tours for over 20 years.
